At BUMC we value community and the power and satisfaction of worshiping together, serving together, and coming together in fellowship.  Some of the things we do for the pure joy of community in Christ are listed here.

Coffee Hour - Sundays after the 10:00 service until 11:30. Coffee hour provides a weekly opportunity for us to enjoy each others company and delicious snacks prepared by members of the congregation on a rotating basis. Our children usally spend this time playing in the Church's Gym.

Parties, Potlucks, Picnics and Progressive Dinners; We get together often just to have fun and get to know each other better. During the school year we share a meal together almost every month. We have ongoing programs and events for children and families, including “Magic and Song on the Lawn” and an upcoming Pumpkin Fair in October. Adults gather regularly for fellowship; some annual favorites are the Christmas and New Year parties.

Youth - BUMC Youth Group for grades 6-12 meets weekly on Sundays from 6:30-8:00 for studies, activities, fellowship and outreach.

Boy Scout Troop #304 has been a mission of our church for over 80 years. The troop meets weekly on Tuesday nights in the church gymnasium. Outdoor activities include monthly camping experiences such as White Mountain hiking, biking on Nantucket, water sport events, and a yearly ski trip. The church-owned "Camp Dalton" in Milford, NH allows new scouts to learn how to enjoy the varied outdoor experiences offered by scouting and allows older scouts to experience winter camping and hone their survival skills! Yearly summer camp is offered at Storer Scout Reservation in Barnstead NH the first week in July. For more information please refer to the troop website at http://www.troop304.org

Three Girl Scout troops are currently meeting at BUMC.  Troop 1924, Troop 1926, and Troop 1931 are serving girls from 7th grade through 12th grade.  Girls meet Friday and/or Sunday evenings.  Girls are actively involved in choosing and planning all activities.  Troop activities have included whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snow tubing, applepicking, bowling, Boston Breakers soccer game, theatre, and movies.  Girls helped in their community by sorting food at the Belmont Food Pantry, cooking and serving meals for the Bristol Kitchen, collecting Christmas gifts for the needy, raking leaves for the church, improving a handicap trail at Cedar Hill girl scout camp, hosting the annual Father/daughter square dance, and assisting at the annual Fragile X fundraiser. Badges and recognitions are completed through Patriots' Trail Girl Scout Council  workshops, troop activities, and individually.  Openings are available!  For information contact the church office.

Belmont Cooperative Nursery School (BCNS) shares our space as a part of the church's ministry to the community. BCNS is a parent cooperative that offers a unique and positive preschool experience for children ages 2¾ through 5 years. Children learn and play in an environment ideally suited to their needs as developing individuals. They discover their own special capabilities and the world around them through independent and group activities. The school’s flexible atmosphere gives each child the freedom to participate at his or her own level of interest and development. A low child-to-adult ratio (four or five-to-one) ensures the opportunity for personalized attention.

Through its cooperative nature, BCNS promotes continuity between the child’s home and the school. Children, parents and teachers together create a warm community for growing and learning. For more information see the BCNS website at www.belmontcoop.org.
